Our Story

The Village Family Project was the name chosen by a group of friends who have worked independently, and collectively, with a number of homeless Seattle “Street Kids.”   We encountered these young people in the course of our work, and came together in an attempt to help them in whatever limited ways we could.

We registered The Village Foundation as a business entity back in 2010.  Since we were not soliciting donations, or acting like a traditional charity, we did not incorporate or register as a non-profit at that time.

As we begin to actively pursue donations, and possibly purchase property, we are doing so now.  We have had to change our name to The Village Family Project, and we are now in the process of applying for a 501 (c) 3 status, and transitioning to an LLC.
